Aims

The principal objective of our two year project "Following the waves of music around Europe" is to promote music as an essencial meaning to establish the link between individuals and peoples. As a universal language, it will be approached as a mean of communication to develop the sense and sensibility towards diversity, integration, multiculturality in our students. Besides they will be enabled to acquire and apply knowledge, as well as Key competences related to the subjects they study at school and new digital skills,too. So it will be highlighted the importance of learning throuh rhythm and music and its impact on the students' brain.The project regards three main areas: music, cultural traditions and human tolerance. This way of approaching will create understanding of the partners, as well as teaches and provide them with tools to protect their local culture, being aware of the value of each person and their common legacy, and get confidence in their European belonging. The objectives pursued are the result of staff and students' interviews and are trying to respond to their needs and expectations, specially living in a period of history in which Europe is facing a huge movement of people coming from different countries, bringing their cultures with them, as it happened in the past. So playing and knowing pieces of traditional music from different parts of Europe will enable our students to feel part of all and also unity and solidarity among them will be a precious outcome of the project.
